Coal Formation

Double-Socket Notch

I had heard that this was an optional way of creating a "notch" without having to carve one.  I had already used the fireboard a few times with a carved V-notch.  So,I thought I would give it a try.  It worked fine on the 3rd try.
I just put the tinder bundle over the smoking coal (in the First socket), then just inverted the two and tapped the fireboard to dislodge the coal down into the tinder bundle. Then blew it into flames.
